Check to see if the oil is coming from under the agitator. If it is replace the transmission. If it is not check to see if there is a grease spot inside the was tub.

Gunk gets on clothes-stains them,i pulled agitator out and cleaned it off ran bleach thru-its better but still getting on clothes

The problem may be the seal on the transmission failing. If this happens, grease from the transmission (necessary for it to function) will leak and float (recall from science class that oil is less dense that water) up into the washer. As the grease enters the tub, it stains your clothes.

Speed queen top load washer leaks

Is it a bad leak like it will not fill up with water or just a small leak.
If it will not fill up it most likely is the tub seal. If it is a small leak it might be the water pump seal. There are two screws at the base of the machine that takes a 5/16" or a 8mm socket to remove them.
remove the front cover and start the machine filling and watch for the water DO NOT STICK YOUR HAND IN SIDE THERE WHILE THE MACHINE IS ON!!!! Here is the repair manual for your machine.
If I was you I would repair the machine instead of replacing it. these are awesome machines I have 20 of them in my laundromat that are 19 years old and still trucking every day. the seal is some work you will need some tools and a 3 jaw puller to replace it but you can rent them at most auto parts stores. If it is the pump that is a simple fix just remember to clean and grease the end of the shaft .

here is the repair manual for your machine and the number should be AWZS52

Do I put silicon grease on Speed Queen brake pads

Yes. In fact, the complete brake assembly replacement kit is supplied with some high-temperature silicon grease for exactly this purpose. I hope this helps somebody more than the other two posters, who are complete nobs.

Washer is leaking grease and oil. Can prob be repaired, or do parts need to be replaced?

The grease and oil problem you described is from the "tub seal" breaking down. Replace the tub seal and it will correct the problem. Here is a link to the part.

Grease /oil spots on clothes coming from washer

Hello,
This sounds like the drum bearings are starting to wear and allowing grease to infiltrate through the inner seal.Does it sound noisy on the spin cycle.

Black grease in water intermittantly

You probably have a worn seal that is allowing transmission oil into the tub. Contact an appliance service company.

At start of spin cycle water splashes over top and runs down.

Hi, just fixed the daughters speed queen, same problem. The three brake shoes were worn allowing the tub to spin with the agitator.
replaced the shoes, washer fine. At first I thought it was the top ring. spent 30 dollars for nothing.
good luck
