Hello... I have a Maytag Ensignia Oversize Capacity Plus top loading washer. The unit is approx 3 yrs old. It appears to have stopped in mid cycle. I have noticed the auto temperature control light is not lit. I do and have always have the auto temperature control on. I checked power to the unit and it is on. I have checked the water source and it also is on. The unit stopped when it refilled for the first rinse cycle on the whites setting. I changed different setting, such as going back to the end of the wash cycle or trying different setting on the colors setting, with no avail. The unit appears to not have power to engage the timer dial. Please advise any suggestions... Thanks Bob

My washer has the same problem. It is full of water in the basket and when I turn on the timer thingee it makes a loud noise like it wants to spin but then then noise ends after 3 seconds. Should I just replace this washer? I have been trying to research the problem and it seems there is more than one problem with it. Timer may be old, drive buster, etc.
My Maytag oversize capacity plus will not do anything: won't fill, makes no noise at all like it died. Do I need a new timer knob?
