My grind and brew will grind the beans and everything, but does not brew even close to the desired 12 cups.
Why is it doing this? Is something broken? Stuck?

try cleaning the grind chute again. if problem persists: this is a cronic problem with the DGB900BC even after cleaning. the problem is the gate or trap to the grounds needs to open/remain open during grinding or all backs up and jams. my unit opens the door (correctly) during the rotation but closes just before grinding (over-rotation?). Cuisinart is not aware of this problem (800-726-0190). please call them; i just have.
First you have a blockage in you grind passage. Try removing the brew group. Then inside on the roof of the machine where the brew unit was setting there is a drop chute where the coffee is dropped into the brew unit. From the left side of the drop chute pull down and back, and it will drop coffee. This will clear an opening that relieves pressure on the passage. There is a passage inside the drop chute area that goes to the grinder (towards the rear of the machine). Vacuum it out. It will be on the right side of the drop chute. Once that is cleared go to the bean hopper. There is a lever on the right side below the bean hopper. Push the lever back to the largest number. You can push the lever to a larger number any time but it has to be grinding to pull to a smaller number. Now replace everything and make your coffee. Once you have made your coffee you can pull back to a number that was higher than the one you had it on, but only when the grinder is running. The second thing brew unit missing. Open the door. Push hard on the upper left side of the brew unit. When you hear a click, close the door and the light should be out.
You may have to clean the grinder....even more. That happened to me once. First I cleaned out the coffeemaker with the brush, and "dug" out more coffee, then I used this product which you can find on Amazon: "Urnex Grindz Coffee Grinder Cleaner - Urnex 17-GRINDZ12-40." It's expensive, but it really worked well.
My grind and brew is a little different, but when I have this problem, I havve to remove the beans and vaccuum out the bean reseviour. It gets clogged and then it won't grind.
Remove the grind chamber.
There is a black plastic pice sticking up in the area underneath where the grind chamber would sit. Lift it up, and you will see it is sort of like a hatch. It is probably clogged with coffee grinds.
Go ahead and clear out this chute, and see if it resolves the problem.
