Dryer wont turn on

try to spin the inner drum. You could have a broken belt. if it spins really easy, that's probably what it is. There should be some resistance when you turn it.

My mattag dryer (mds5500aww) the time started to slowly get longer and longer know every time i start a load it reads 99 min.? the clothes are dry but why the increase in time

Most likely your exhaust duct is filling up with lint. Also check where the duct goes outside the house and see if there is lint built up there. The lint doesn't all get collected in the lint filter, and some of it gets caught in the duct. This makes it harder for the dryer to push the air outside, and so less air goes through the dryer. Less air going through makes it take longer to dry the clothes.
Best wishes, and thanks for using FixYa.

The dryer runs fine with no load but as soon as i add clothes aft

Sounds like the motor may be on its way out. a motor, over time can form a short or require more amps to do its job but can cause the breaker to trip. Also over time, dust and lint can build up over time, inside the dryer and cause it to over-heat.

Your heating element is going out. Mine did this a few months ago. It is an easy fix. Look up the part online.

99 minutes

It sounds like you may need a new timer. Has water or anything gotten into the timer. This could be causing a short or faulty reading in it.
