That sounds like an ignition coil problem. If that model uses an ignition coil (not electronic ignition), it probably needs to be replaced.

You have a short to ground inside the steering column Measure voltage with ignition off.any wire that has less than 12 volts should be considered as problem if not black in color

look at the ignition bypass resistor. It's on the firewall close to the brake master cylinder. It provides full battery voltage while cranking and then runs at reduced voltage the rest of the time. Your ignition switch controls it's operation, so look for a faulty ignition switch too.

need more info but could be the battery, starter, or ignition switch(if you turn the key and its not even cranking but you still have lights)

engine wont start cold or hot could be fuel problem.check for fuel or spark.try doing little troubleshooting make sure sparkplugs and wires good condition.fuel filter been changed.engine need fuel and spark ignition to run.turn ignition on listen for fuel pump operation in fuel tank if no check fuel pump fuse and relay.if fuse relay okay.problem could be the fuel pump but first use code scanner look for PCM, CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR,CAMSHAFT SENSOR AND DISTRIBUTOR IGNITION FAULT CODE.MAKE SURE YOU HAVE FUEL INTANK I SEEN THAT HAPPEN BEFORE.

Hi, Please check comprehensively your ignition. A bad ignition will working worst while the engine in cold. Your coil should has blue ray while it work ( for best). Also check your spark plug and its wires.

check the spark plugs also if you can,do a compression test on engine

change distributor cap first and see how it goes could have a crack in it.Failing which you need to test the ignition module when its cold as sometimes a component will break down and not work when its cold ,this is very much a hands on type job so if dist cap doesnt cure it call a mobile mechanic
