I have KDS K717 monitor model no 700P when I turn on the screen just stays black eventhough the power indicator light says that it is getting power. Is it shot? Do I need to buy a new one or can this one be fixed with out a lot of expense.
Monitor stays black?
This trouble maybe power supply or inverter boards is defective.

First make sure you have the monitor cables correct. Try another monitor hopefully works so you can go into your device manager and make sure the right drivers are loaded and that your monitor is listed. You may do some research because I'm not sure but I think your monitor uses a back light & an inverter which is replaceable and not usually a difficult job or to expensive. Labor of coarse cost more than the parts. Monitors use a video card or on board video so make sure these are not the problem.
Are you sure its not in wake mode in the bios?
If you shine a light on the monitor when the comp. is on and the monitor light is on you may be able to see your screen. That would be the back light.
When if all and what was going on when it stopped working?

necesito el diagrama de conexion interno para lcd kds 700p. i need de pinout tech info for lcd monitor kds model 700p myy wire is broken........ i just adapt a new part used,,,?
Power supply filter caps will be he first thing to check, look for leaking/bulging tops.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also. http://www.badcaps.net http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor_plague
The most common problem with LCD monitors is the capacitors that are on the power pack. the pack usually looses or pops as we say 2-6 of them after 3-5 years. its almost a certainty after 5 years. a component repair tech can replace these but unless you can find some one like me who will do it for cheap to save the landfill you most likely will buy a new one.
The same problem happend on mine it was ac power converter box had to replace it twice but its been working for 3 years now note light was on both times
