Winterize a 2004 4-stroke Honda Aquatrax F-12

How do I winterize the wave runner?

It will be stored in Huddleston VA over the winter (could freeze). I will plan on putting fuel stabil in the gas and running it through the system. I would also spray fogging oil in the air intake to hit the cylinders (is that recommended) and then pull the battery.

Is it nessasary to use anti-freeze for winter storage?

Yes it is highly recommended to use antifreeze when storing a vehicle over the winter, as if the temperature drops below freezing, just water in the coolant system can cause various damage throughout. Most combustion engines have a frost plug in the block, but they are not fool proof, and extreme cold can cause the block, heads, intake manifold, water pump, or even the rad to split. It is also recommended to add a fuel stabilizer before storing a vehicle for a lengthy period of time.

Why do I have to use the choke on my Honda XR125 2004, every morning wheat her summer OR winter?

because as your honda sits over night the gas in the line runs back to the tank. and using the choke helps to suck the gas to the combustian chamber

2004 Honda Stream. Alarm goes off in winter, at night, when it's very cold. Is there a simple fix (other than turning it off)?

the main reason the alarm goes off by itself is usually due to the doors on the car. the alarm is triggered when the cotnrol system detects that a door has been opened. There should be 2-3 terminals that line up to make sure the door is closed. In the winter they can get frosted with ice or dirty from salt and road dirt. the contacts get greasy/grimy/dirty over time.

if the switches don't make a good electrical contact the slightest vibration can cause them to break contact and trick the security control unit into thinking that someone has attempted to open the door.
The easiest solution is to clean the contacts on the door switches on both sliding doors with isoprophol alcohol.

the doors use a plunger type switch that the door closes against. if either of those switches is loose it couldalso cause the same problem.

clean the contacts on the sliding door and see if the problem goes away. it probably will.

I also like to spray the rubber plunger receivers with a quick coat of silicone grease, this keeps the rubber from getting brittle and makes it less prone ot freezing in the winter.

My AC was running fine before winter, now it only blows air.

If the system is working properly and you are only getting warm air, there are 2 common causes.

1.Check the air mix door motor and wiring.

2. There could be a leak in the AC system. No refrigerant means no air conditioning.
