My husband just fix my GE Dryer GFDN240WW "Start Button broke" issue. Here is what he did; He removed the control knob to access the phillp screw. Unscrewed screw and lift up on control to remove panel and unhook power supply. Then set control panel on face. Unscrewed 5 larger screws to removed black plastic panel w/ mother board attached. Set board aside and located power button which was broke off. Compare button to all other buttons on panel to see how they are attached to panel. My husband used Plumbers Goop from Lowes store to attached power button like the others. Then he reassembled the dryer and presto! It works!
you will need to replace the cartridge, along with the handle.
plastic gets brittle over time, but adding a difficult to turn cartridge will cause it to break more frequently.
make sure when you replace the cartridge, to clean everything well. a small wire brush will do, no need to scrub, unless there is a buildup of scale. just a light brushing inside the valve.
clean and dry, then lubricate inside the valve, and the new cartridge with non-silicone based lubricant. this will make your valve work like new.
There is probably a loose ground wire inside the power pack. This would cause the cracking, buzzing, or hissing sound, as it is not getting a solid connection. Open it up and look inside for loose wires. If you have a soldering iron, you can heat up a few joints, to check for bad soldering joints on the board.
hi,i have same hitachi p50h401,just over a year old, mint condition never use stand but boards inside have some problems(blue light is flashing but tv not turning on).will sell it or buy yours.thx oliver.e-mail to [email protected]
It can be soldered back on. With that particular model, I don't know if the connector is connected to the tuner or if there is a litte square anteena box which then feed a cable to the tuner.
