Have a Samsung DLP HLN467WX TV. Have replaced the lamp and tv will not power up. The power and temp lights on the front are flashing. Appears to power on but within seconds shuts down completely. Will only attempt to power on upon plugging into electrical outlet. Have tried to reset the lamp timer by using the remote combination of menu +1+8+2+power. You can hear 4 chirp sounds after entering the code. Any suggestions?

This sounds like an o-so familar problem. It sounds like the Switching IC or the MICOM has failed

Thanks for your solution. This is a problem with color wheel. I could not fix it by myself, so my friend will try to fix it next week.

I suggest doing a google search using the tv model # and brand.
I have learned myself that different big screen tvs seem to each have their own common problems. I have read before of power supply issues that cause what your describing.

Listen closely. The tv should make a high pitch whine as it turns on. If it does wait and see if it tries this a few times. If yes then check the bulb, I have seen cases where the lamp shoves the power connector back into the set. If the tv starts with a grown or heavy vibration noise, then your color wheel may have broken and needs replaced.
