I have a Honda gx 390 that powers a generator, it starts and runs fine for about 25 minutes and then just cuts out, as though I have switched it off. I have to wait a couple of hours before it starts again, starting is easy and it runs beautifully for 25 mins ....... I have changed the oil, there is a low oil warning cutout fitted. If there is too much oil in the engine would this cause the engine to cut out ?

This engine has a high temperature cutoff that has probably gone bad...

you have a dingo, ugh
I would suspect a bad pump or wheel motor if the rpms are set correctly and no safety switches are causing it to die...

Clean all the ports and jets with some torch tip cleaners or mechanics wire cut at an angle to be sharp.

Make sur ethe fuel filter is not clogged, or the sreen in the tank.

Also empty the tank and dry it out, then add fresh fuel as gasoline goes bad.

I have a Honda GX 390 with 13 hp power washer. Overheating.

Make sure the engine is not full of paint or dust debris in it's cooling system. If the fuel mixture setting is very lean, it can cause overheating. Make sure the fuel tank vent is open to prevent fuel starvation. Does the engine seem to be running at full operational speed? If not, it will be short on developed horsepower. Make sure the water source is not partially shut off. Hope some of this helps!

My honda gx160 generator keeps cutting out after 2 mins

Sounds like fuel flow is restricted.
Is the vent cap on the gas tank clear?
Pull the fuel hose off at the carb and let run into a container from the tank......is fuel flow good while filling a cup or two worth of fuel?
If not check filter at fuel switch or at hose connection at tank for restriction.
It takes about 2 minutes to use up fuel in the carb with engine running.
Sure sounds like a fuel problem.

Honda gx 390 only starts when it feels like it

Sometimes you have to lower the air pressure in the tank to allow it to run. The back pressure from the compressed air in the compressor head overcomes the pressure created in the engine at the slow RPMs you are able to pull while attempting to crank it.
