Key pad light is not working - Nokia 7610 Supernova Cell Phone

The control panel is actually 2 different parts and either could be bad. Do you have the display still lighting up or is it completely dead? If it is out it could the main smart board. If it still lights but no buttons work then it could still be the smart board or just the key pads which are a separate part. Neither part can be fixed just replaced.

You must replace the key pad as a unit, the tiny light bulb is not replaceable. This involves removing the drivers door panel (about a 2 hour job at home)and the rear door glass run channel. I suggest if you can afford it you have a professional do this rather involved job. If you do want to attempt it let me know.

The machine control pad, with the LED lights, is going out. Replace this control pad and all lights should be working normally again.

If the key pad light is not working the first thing you do is restart the device.
After restarting the device check the light and power settings it might be a sort of power saving mode.
If after checking the setting still nothing then restore the device factory settings to do this you need the device lock code.
If the light still doesn't come on then refer it to an expert for a closer look.

unfortunately when this happens the lcd is a sealed unit therefore the lcd must be replaced because of the back light problem

Does the key pad on the door light up? Are there any tears in the key pad numbers? Does the key pad lock the doors?.
There are no fuses directly for the pad.. The key pad is linked directly to the RAP. module. If the locks work from the FOB the fuses for the Module are good. Chances are the pad is no good especially if it don't light up. The RAP module is above the driver side foot well, directly above the accelerator pedal . Hope this helps.

Your Control Key Pad is a circuit with each function and button a switch. The pad on your TV Remote, and Telephone is no different. The Key Pad is failing, It will only get worse. Determine if you can replace the Touch (Key) Pad. Not the Control Circuit, just the Touch Pad. Sometimes you can get it seperate. It connects by a Flex Cable to the Control Circuit.
