The capacitors on the power board that are domed on the top would be the first thing to look for. If you can solder ,it is an fix. If it is under warranty though you could void the warranty if you tamper with it.Bad capacitor on this newer model is unusual. If caps are ok I would Replace the main board.
Testimonial: "Electroman2 was very prompt, and offered good information on the issue."
I had the same issue. called samsung 1 month before warranty expriy. Due to snowstorms the techincian couldn't come to check the tv. almost 1 day after warranty expiry i reopened another ticket and the technician came today and replaced the power supply board/unit inside the tv. Part # BN44-00307A SMPS-LED SLIM. seems to have fixed the issue for now. Will see how it performs over the next few days.
hope this helps.
Hi Tumkyajano,
Thank you for your note. The tech who came to my house replaced two of the four boards in the unit, one of them being the power supply (the board with all the heat sinks and capacitors), and the other board was the main unit (which contains the tuner and most of the HDMI interfaces). The problem seemed to be better, but in the days after the replacement, the television persists in turning off on occasion. A discussion with the customer service representative with the local SAMSUNG- affiliated repair facility last week netted the opinion that the bezel along the bottom can be sometimes too tight against the actuation switches. A technician is due out to my house today to investigate the issue. Seems the bezel can be held too tightly by mounting screws in the back cover.
Hows the tv so far? Mine was just fixed, both power and motherboards replaced.
