Change TV resolutions to view slide shows

Nope. The picture resolution has to be 1080 to fill the screen completely. Using stretch and zoom will distort the low rez pictures. No option to change resolution on the TV itself.

We have a 52" Aquos

Go into the user menu and set the default to full. If this does not correct your issue, then take it to a service center. You are still covered under Warranty.

My dvd player doesn't fill the screen on my Sharp

There are settings on most DVD players as well as TV's that allow you to adjust the type of display you want. Make sure both the DVD and TV are set to the same display type (usually either 16:9 for your type of TV). If that still does not fill the screen you will have to use the Zoom function on either your DVD or TV. This will cut off part of your movie, but should allow you to fill the screen. Most DVD movies will also allow you to choose widescreen or normal viewing from their menu. Again, you will lose a small part of either side of the movie, but at least you will fill your screen.

Aquos screen blacks out with xbox 360 using Component Cables

Downloaded the updated firmware from the sharp website to a usb drive. Placed the drive in the TV and went to the update software option on the TV menu. Since the update, I no longer get the black-outs on the screen. I also put the resolution on the 360 back up to 1080p and it works great, even through the component cables.

Sharp Aquos LC-32D43U

To adjust screen size, choose the View Mode feature on the top right of the remote control. Zoom size is full screen for watching DVD movies, but sometimes there is still a thin black band due to the formatting of the dvd (unless you buy full screen versions) S. Stretch view mode is best for TV Movies.(usually fills whole screen) Occasionally there are TV movies which just don't respond to being stretched to fill the screen, it's just the way the signal is coming through . 1080i/p detects the resolution of the signal and displays the same number of pixels on the screen, but a 720p signal input will be viewed in full screen.
