I have lost my CD for loading the print driver for my Lemark X 3480 printer. My version of windows Xp. Please can you send me a way of being able to load the driver. Thanks Liz

    HIya

    Thanks for this but this caused all my problems in the begining! I am restoring all my software and the hardware wizard cant find a driver. So I am not going to do that...any other ideas? Is there a driver that is compatible? I had looked on the website for a driver and like you didnt find one.

    Any other ideas??

    Hi Yes it did work when I down loaded the driver from the original software CD but I cant go back to a restore point as my machine has crashed and i have had to reload everything from scratch. I had to get someone to do if for me and if I had had the driver he woudl have loaded that too.

    I wonder why there is no access to this driver on the site. Seemingly my printer is now useless!

The driver will be available from www.lexmark.com then select Drivers and Downloads, then driver finder, type in X3480 into search box and press GO, select your OS

    Hmm wait on there... no XP driver listed :-(

    Try the VISTA driver...



    The Lexmark driver for Vista should work on XP just be sure you do not use the Vista 64 Bit. driver



    Another option I have been recommended is to try the X3470 XP driver.


    Either way I suggest you create a system restore point just in case it all goes bad.



    To do this



    START, PROGRAMS, ACCESSORIES, SYSTEM TOOLS, SYSTEM RESTORE, select Creat Restore Point and press NEXT. Give it a name you wont forget...

    Sorry Liz,



    I have been unable to locate an XP driver for the X3480. There seems to only be official VISTA drivers.



    You say "this caused all my problems in the begining!" What exactly was "this" loading the VISTA driver?



    Did the printer ever work on XP? Is there a restore point that relates to a time when it DID work that you can restore back to?

    I have been searching and this is the one file that keeps coming up as the solution.



    DOWNLOAD



    click on FREE user and you'll have to wait about 30 seconds. If another window opens just close it



    I can only suggest you d/l and try it having made a restore point first as the official lexmark support seems now only for VISTA which seems odd to say the least.

Before downloading, check if your computer is running on Windows (XP, Vista 32-bit, Vista 64-bit or Windows 2000) or is it running on Macintosh (version 10.3, 10.4, 10.5 or 10.6). To download, just click on the link: http://bit.ly/axy5n7 . On the bottom of the page, there are dropdowns for Microsoft and Macintosh. Choose the operating system your computer is running on. It seems you installed the wrong driver version, check your computer if it is vista/Xp version 32 bit or 64 bit? and load the correct drivers.

With your bios version i guess it is a 945 chipset motherboard.

Can i download in window vista
The CD only has the drivers on it. So go to the Lexmark website, go to the support page, and type in the model number and you will be able to download the correct driver.
