Purchased my Seagate June 6, 2008 and have used it just a few times with my Win XP. I recently bought a new PC with Win 7 onboard (naturally). Now I want to transfer (copy) my music and photo files from the XP to my new Win 7. Will the Seagate unit (120 Gb), and/or the Ceedo program work with (play nicely with) Win 7?

Certainly, any files that you write using Windows XP will be able to be read with Windows 7.

I'm not familiar with the CEEDO program -- did the author update it for Windows 7 ?

Pc will not boot need to know the beep codes, to solve problem

all that typing and you still didn't list your motherboard make and model ?? different motherboards have different BIOS's and their respective beep codes are different for each

try looking in the BIOS and checking the video section for a PCI-e setting. sometimes it has to be set to look for a PCI-e card first, especially when the motherboard has on-board video.

Seagate external HDD used on XP 32 bit laptop, device not recognised on new Win 7 64 bit laptop.

It may be that you need a driver for that particular external hard drive.

Visit: http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/ and search for your specific model and see if a driver for 64-bit Windows 7 is available.

I have a Seagate ST3200822AS 200 GB Hard Drive(windows XP).I want to use this as external but I don't want it to mix with HD on new computer(windows 7). How do I keep them separate and run one or the other...

Is the Seagate ST3200822AS an External Drive ( like USB connectivity ) or actual Hard Drive ? Even if it is Internal Hard Drive, You can make connect it to Win 7 and still keep it as Seperate Drive.

Connect the Hard Drive to Win 7 PC and Make it Slave ( partition ) by changing the Jumper on the Hard Drive ( jumper is a small pin or a lock that makes a Hard Drive Primary or Slave.

Once you connect the HD to Win 7, you will find new Drives Created in Win 7, this way you will differentiate between the Win 7 Drives and XP Drives

This link will how you the jumper position : Remove the jumper from slot 1 and put it in slot 2

I just bought that disk (seagate SATA 500G) half year ago and found it stop working randomly, resulting the whole system to be dead. BTW, I am using Win XP. I tried to use seatool, provied by seagate, to...

It sounds like you're not concerned about the data on the drive, just the drive itself.
If that is the case, the drive will still be under warranty. Most seagate drives have a 3-5 year warranty.
Take the drive back to where you purchased it and they can get it replaced for you. Alternatively you can send it to seagate direct, however there may be a minor courier fee.
