The toggle switch or 'joystick' is a common weakness on these phones it seems to me. Is there any repair for the toggle switch - or is the mainboard scrap when this occurs. The switch is anchored to the mainboard by two soldered 'feet' , one top , - one bottom , (also there are 3 soldered terminals each side).
On mine , one of the anchor points has fractured/sheared. I dont know if the two anchor points also make an electrical connection or 'grounding' . The switch still works in a very random/ unreliable way. Does anyone know answers to any of these questions ? Ian.
HI,
Please CLICK HERE
and watch the video it will give you some ideas to fix it your self.
You need to replace the whole joypad.
I will see if I find a disassembling guide, rather than to say the how to, I need to show it.

You say replace the joypad - but do you have any more detailed advice - like how to remove it - ie unsolder all of the eight contacts. and are the two mounting feet also 'contact' points - etc
Re: K700i/750i toggle - Hi - and thanks Ginko for help etc - I have dismantled the phone already - which is not a problem. I think actually it is not really possible to remove the joystick/toggle switch from the mainboard and replace it, as you would have to 'un-solder' eight contact points. It does not appear to be designed for easy replacement , which means any phone with this fault is only good for spare parts . Oh well. Thanks again - Ian.
