Yes, you may charge the battery through the USB connection. Bear in mind that not all computer USB ports put out enough current to charge batteries. You may also use an AC-powered USB charger, such as used for some cell phones.
most camera are sold with "flat batterys" in them (its a fire hazard thing) so you need to fully recharge the batterys before use or the camera will just turn its self off,,,look at the hand book for charge times? dont try using it on half charged batterys you only kill off the battery that way,,,
The USB cable does charge the battery if plugged into pc. The red LED will light while charging and go off when the battery is charged. I cannot find any options to buy the software online but the Support email is: [email protected]
