Same type problem...appears to start heating up in all modes (bake, convection, broil), but less than a minute later it shuts down. No code on the panel and it will let you restart the cycle only to shut down again. Range seems to work fine. Have cleaned up connections but still doesn't work...

GE Oven CGS980 will not stay on once it reaches convection temperature. Must turn off and back on for it to reach the correct temp. Will keep turning off every time it reaches commanded temp.

How to use convection oven

Use just like a regular oven. Convection just blows the hot air around, so cooking can be faster. Search on google the differences between convection and baking.

What it’s the difference between bake and convect bake....just for cake bake .this it’s the first time tha used Kichent aid ??

The main difference between a convection oven vs regular bake oven is how heat is circulated. A convection oven has a fan that continuously circulates air through the oven cavity. Because air is continuously circulated, convection ovens produce a much more consistent and even heat than regular bake ovens.

Will a plain fan convection/microwave ROAST/BAKE as well as a "true" convection that has an extra heating element and fan convection/microwave

Most likely the Kenmore is actually made by Sharp. Most of the combination microwave/convection ovens are. I have one with a "Wolf" name on it, and it roasts/bakes very well.

Should the fan on my built in electric convection oven come on during normal 'bake' mode (ie not 'convect' mode ?

There is a fan for cooling down whole oven, it can turn on and off during the regular bake or broil cycle to cool down the oven on the outside. It's controlled by its own thermostat, so it will even stay on for awhile when you turn the bake off.

Convection fan doesn't turn on

Found this site cuz I had the same problem- as your purchase was 4 years ago- not sure that I'll help you... But help others who are stumped... I pushed the QuickBake button to preheat then to turn the fan on I pressed it again... ( actually a couple times messing with it...) Once it gave me a " double beep" and sometimes just a single beep but none the less, the fan turned ON!!! Good luck!

I have a built-in GE electric convection-regular oven. Model JT915W0F8WW. I don't understand when I push the convection baking do I change the baking time? Isn't it suppose to bake faster than the...

As a genaral rule of thumb.. Most recipes can be adjusted for convection oven use by decreasing the temperature by 25 degrees F and decreasing cooking time about 25%. Dishes with cooking times over 45 minutes, and that might dry out too much (like lasagna, or meatloaf) you should cover for the first half of the cooking time, and then remove the cover.
