The most sure-fire method for this is a Power Scan if this works when you are done you'll need to press the "AUX" button before using the remote to control the equipment.

Power Scan AUX
1.) With the desired equipment on, press and hold the correct AUX button until all mode button backlights illuminate (about 3 seconds), then release.
2.) press 0 for a TV, press 1 for a VCR/DVD, press 2 for any other device, then press *.
Press and release the large red Power button.
3.) Press the Up button once a second while pointing the remote at the desired equipment. If the code for the equipment comes up, the equipment will power off.
Press the POUND (#) button. If the code entered is valid for the remote, the mode light flashes three times.
To verify the code works try several different functions for that equipment

The Bose codes for Comcast remotes for both the Cisco (labeled Xfinity) and Scientific Atlanta (labeled Comcast) DVR remotes are 31229 and 31933. 31933 worked with my Bose CineMate Series II
