IF the line only appears on the autofeed, then the feeder optics have a dirt or some other contaminate on the optical sensor/lens area. A good cleaning inside the autofeed where the optics scan should resolve

Do you get the same result/image when scanning to your computer? Remove the cartridges from your computer. Then close the printer cover.Unplug the power adapter from the printer.
Wait at least 10 seconds before replugging the adapter into the printer. This will give enough time for the printer to reset. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges. Try to make a copy or scan again. If you're still getting the same result, I would strongly suggest you to contact Lexmark technical support for additional assistance.
Are you using a Lexmark factory new cartridge or a re-filled / third party cartridge.
If the answer is that you are using re-filled or a third party cartridge that is your failure.
Lexmark does not support the use of these products in there products. In fact, use of these type of products is considered to be -product tampering and will cause Lexmark to void the printer's warranty.

It insists there is a Cartridge problem on the Printer............ In this Case take out the Paper from the Paper Feed Tray........ Unplug the Power Supply from the Printer.......... Remove both the Cartridges from the Printer.......... Now take a size 10 Envelope fold it so that it should become like a thin long strip........ Now Insert that Envelope on the left side corner of the Printer and move it from right to left and left to right as fast as u can for about 10 times.......... Now Insert the Ordinary Papers onto the Printer and insert both the catridges and Move the Catridge Carrier which holds the Catridge Back and Forth for abt 20 Times as fast as u can.............
Turn On the Printer........
Do the lines only show up if you use the document feeder? If so, there is something on the strip of glass where the page is scanned. Open the top to reveal the large glass area. Then open the part where the paper feeds in when using the document feeder. It will flip open from right to left. There are two pieces to this, so make sure you grasp it as low as possible. You should see a small strip of glass. Clean all the glass with a SOFT cloth. Don't spray any cleaner onto the glass, rather, spray it onto the cloth if you need any.
well I have had the same thing happen.on the left only use 31[photo]; 32; 34....on the right33; 35..left takes black or 31 photo....right color cartridge only
