Dear Friend,

  1. If the picture you can see is clear and the are bars of snow at top and bottom of the picture, there is a problem of LCD panel of your TV. There is some thing called TCON board which control LCD Panel, may be damaged.
  2. If software of the LCD tv is corrupt, you can update it by contacting service people.

DEPENDS ON WHICH BOARD THAT NEEDS REPLACING. Look on Shopjimmy.com they list boards and parts. If you know how to solder I would first resolder boards and check for Bad Capaciotrs they will be puffed up on Top.

Lg plasma DT50py10. When turning on bottom half of screen is snowy and has lots of white lines for approx 20 min then it goes away. Top half of screen is normal
sounds like your bottom buffer board is on its way out .
Will also need to check the y sus board as this some times causes the buffers boards to fail.

did you try going through the settings to configure yur tv with the game console so they could work together properly.also make sure your hdmi cables are good ones.and also try to reset the contrast,brightness etc of the tv.

Horizontal lines on screen
well if they run all the way up and are on every input through then menu the panel is NG, some panels are around $500 now.

When the PS3 disc is loaded the introduction is fine and then the background becomes runny with color lines running from top to bottom. A kind of snowy effect.
output you have selected may be incompatible with your tv try changing the output in your ps3 menu
