The C360 uses MMC and SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While SDHC cards will fit into SD devices, they are electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to use SD cards 2GB and smaller.

What your asking isn't exactly clear, but it sounds like you are formatting the card with a computer and not the camera. If that is the case put the card in the camera and go to menu or settings and find the option to format or in the case of video cameras, initialize and click that option and the camera will format the card.
The camera has to format the card so it can place the folders that it needs to store the pictures that it captures. Hope this helps.

Camera cannot read card

This requires a SD memory card. I would stay with 512 mb or smaller.

No. You cannot use a 8GB SDHC card in the C360. The C360 supports MMC and SD cards up to 2GB in size.

Get another memory card. The C360 works with SD and MMC cards, not with SDHC cards. While an SDHC card will fit into the slot, it is electronically incompatible.

Format memory card for xp

when formating a memory card first you must use a memory card reader that fifs to your memory. and connect to the usb port to your computer. after your computer detects your memory card, go to my computer and right click the removable device which is your memory and click format.

>my computer> right click removable device (memory card)>format

"Memory card requires formatting"

This error message means that the card is corrupted or formatted for another digital camera. Turn off the camera. Insert a new card or format the card. CAUTION: Formatting deletes all pictures and videos, including those that are protected. Removing a card during formatting may damage the card.

"Memory card cannot be read"

My camera used to do the same thing--once I got the pictures off my card, I left it in the card reader, right clicked on removable media (my computer + removable storage) chose to "format" and formatted it on my computer. It seems to have fixed the problem, and my camera now reads it fine. I tried to format it on the camera before, but it didnt work.
