If you are using windows xp , you can restart the laptop and press the f8 function key repeatedly until you come to a screen for boot mode selections. use the arrow keys to boot in safe mode. once in safe mode you can go to the controlpanel(user accounts) and delete the user password. then simply restart the laptop to gain acess normally. at this point you will no longer be asked for a password.

My hp dv66121he is asking for a administrator password or a power on password and I don't know that how can I reset this and take it off

You can remove or change the Window's User or administrator's password. You need access to a computer with Internet access to download the Hiren's Boot CD and burn it onto a CD. Then insert this CD into the laptop/computer and boot up the laptop/computer with the Hiren's CD and follow the instructions. There are very useful utilities CD and it a Linux boot CD which contains quite a lot of Utility programs including a password removal program. Click on one of these links to download HIREN'S BOOTCD :- http://www.hirensbootcd.net/ http://67.20.82.163/

Password on Bios of sony vaio VPCEB46FG

You don't need to put a bios password on it.

If the bios already has a password on it then it will not let you boot the computer without you putting it in. It sounds like you are already booted up and into the bios, if that is true don't set a bios password.

Upon powering on the system won't go past the boot

> problem with barebone system
> asks for a password in the Setup

Turn the computer off.
Disconnect the AC power.
Look on the motherboard for three pins in a row, with a jumper between #1 and #2.
Move that jumper to connect #2 and #3. Count to ten.
Move that jumper back to #1 and #2.
The motherboard has been reset to its "factory" settings, i.e., NO password.
Connect the AC power.
Turn the computer on.
Press <DEL> to enter Setup.
It should NOT ask for a password.

Wen i turn it on it is asking for password and i dont know it what do i do

Does it ask for a password Immediately when you turn it on? (CMOS password) or does windows boot up and then ask for both a username and password?

If the first, and you don't know what your password is, you can try clearing the CMOS by pulling the battery from the motherboard.

If it's a windows password, you or someone else created a password for it. Try just clicking OK, or enter Administrator as the username and leave password blank. Otherwise you may have to reset using ultimate boot CD.

How do I access BIOS if I don't know the Password?

If upon boot up and pressing DEL button asks a supervisor password, then you just need to take out the CMOS battery from your computer's mother board. Let it stay for like 3 minutes and return back the battery. This will remove the password in the bios. Good luck!

There are several types of password lock ups.
If you forgot the password on the log on screen where it asks for the username and password, you need to do recovery on the computer with the recovery disc that comes with it.

If the lock up is upon powering on the computer where you can see a blue screen and asks for a password, it is a BIOS power on password and there is no way to bypass this. You need to send it to an authorized service provider to reset it.

If it is an HDD password upon boot up, sad to say, the HDD needs to be replaced.

Hope this helps.
