It sound like the compressor is overheating and the start relay could be failing because of the holiday and possible not getting a tech out there, pull the frig out from wall and remove the back panel and get an portable fan and let it blow air on compressor to keep it cool, If you here the sound on the covered axcess panel on the back the mother board is questionable. Hope this helps....

S by s has frost build up Model # GSH25JSRF-SS

You will have to check the continuity of the defrost system. You can check this by unplugging refrigerator, and testing the circuit from the main control board behind the refrigerator. If the circuit is not compromised, the problem is likely with the control board itself. If the circuit is not intact, you will have to open up the freezer and test all the individual defrost components. There are thermostats and thermistors that need to be tested in cold conditions, in other words, you will have to test them while there is frost on the evaporator. You can however test the defrost heater with or without frost on the evaporator.

GE Model GSH25JSRF SS is clicking non stop, the click comes from a small panel on the back right of the fridge. Started out that the water and ice dispenser didn't dispense. Then the clicking just came...

Is it still cooling? I had an issue where there was a clicking noise from the back panel and the fridge did not cool. Pulling off the panel the noise seemed to from a box on the circuit board. Turns out there was a problem with the controler board and after some research I found that the board was covered under a recall. GE ended up sending a guy out to replace the board at no charge. Pretty cool being that if was after the warranty had expired; but I guess it makes sence since there was a recall. Good luck.

Fridge not cooling, freezer not freezing even on coldest settings

From what you are describing, you have a refrigerant leak. The freon has leaked from the system, The compressor will still run and evrything looks fine. To double check you will have to have someone hookup gauges to the system and verify that the charge is lost.
It may be possible to find and repair the leak. This is not always possible as some of the system is virtually inaccessible in many refrigerators.
Make sure if you do have someone repair the system that they evacuate the system very well and do a good vacum test before recharging the system.

This should help you to solve your problem.

Freezer fan noise

Remove the freezer panel to access the fan motor. Look for any obstruction around the fan or blade. Ice, misplaced wire etc.
Check the fan blade. Sometimes they slip down the shaft too far.
If you find none of these issues, replace the fan motor.

I have a GE profile refreigerator model PTS25LBMARWW. It started to defrost in the freezer. I have working knowledge of refrigerators as I completed A/C and refrig. trade school 20 years ago. here is the...

Make a insulated jumper wire.
Remove the circuit board panel.
Jump the line in side with the compressor terminal.
On the bottom of the control board you will see a molex connector with 3 wires. That is where you will see the 3 terminals.
If the compressor and fan motor come on after the jump.
Replace the control board.

My ge side by side refrigerator has stop coolin on both sides

The clicking you hear is most likely the compressor trying to cycle. It sounds to me like you are low on refrigerant. Most are thermo. protected and will not run on low coolant. Frigerators DO NOT make cold, they absorb heat from inside the box and expell it out the back. Most common cause of refrigerant loss is a leak, usually near the compressor. Hope I Helped

I had the same problem back in March. First the water and ice dispensers stopped working, then the clicking started and the compressor wouldn't turn on. I replaced the circuit board and everything started working again, until today. This is a very common problem with the circuit board on these refrigerators. Do a search for "GE circuit board" and you'll see what I mean. GE issued a service bulletin to its technicians that this service should be provided free of charge, and anyone who already paid to have the circuit board replaced will be reimbursed. I wish I would've known about it 6 months ago. I will be calling GE Consumer Affairs on Monday to get this resolved.
