My Amana NFW7200TW front loader Washer door is falling off. The top hinge has broken free from the plastic that was holding it in place and now the door hangs from the bottom hinge. the washer still works but it is only a matter of time before it falls off. There seem no way to fix it without replacing the door. Is there any other problem that we dont know about and how can this be fixed.

this is possible, youll need a kit that sets on top of the washer,check back where you bought the washer and dryer, they make a washer and dryer combo thats one peice, they are smaller however
I did my own search for the same problem and saw Dougs question and lack of a solution. I have the same sagging door problem and was looking for a fix.
First, when I removed the weight of the items from inside the door, the door closes properly. This means that the door is not very sturdy and cannot hold the weight of items placed on door shelving. There are NO adjustment mechanisms on the door hinges either. Bad on Amana. The GOOD NEWS is that I fixed the problem.
Take out all items from the door shelves. I removed the top hinge with the door closed to keep it from falling. I took the door off and placed it on the floor. The lower hinge has a plastic pivot over a steel pin - remove that for a moment. Place steel washers over the steel pin - about .080" or so thickness. Replace the plastic pivot. Replace the door. Add the normal weight of items back on the door shelves. The door closes perfectly. At least until the door sags again and I'll need to add another shim.
The ring is a clamp that keeps the rubber part, called the bellow, attached to the front panel of the washer. To reinstall hook the edge of the bellow around the lip of the opening in the front panel (the hole through which you put your laundry). Then take the clamp and seat it in the groove of the bellow behind the lip of the front panel. The spring on the clamp should pull the bellow tight to the opening of the panel.
There are 4 screws in the door that hold a plastic hinge cover on
.The door will then set into the hinge just fine (PLENTY OF ROOM) and then you put the hinge cover back on and screw the screws in to hold the door onto the hinge.You will likely need a 2nd set of hands to keep from breaking the door.
To get the front off. (All screws look to be #2 Phillips Screws)
1. You have to unscrew (2) phillips screws from the back that holds the top on.
2. Slide the top off. (slide towards the back)
3. Then where the control panel is there is about 4-6 screws holding that plastic piece on, take those out this will allow you to pull the control panel up and out of the way.
4. At this point you can unscrew the 4-6 screws in the door area that holds the front of the washer on, once you unscrew those screws there is a tab that you have to lift the front over to pull the front off. This will allow you access to the locking mechanism.
5. There are only 2 screws holding te locking mechanism on.
you need to remove the door hinges and the screws opposite the hinges. that will allow you to remove the front panel and the you will see the latch and the top hold down screws. once you have the top up, then you will also need to remove 2 screws that hold the latch to the upper frame. it is hard to pivot the latch out from the frame but it will come out and then you can replace the assembly. by the way.. why are you wanting to replace the latch?? any failure codes? you might also have to replace the control board as it will fail when the door latch shorts out. if you look at the control board you might see some of the resistors that have burnt out/ shorted out. sorry but it happens alot. if it is less then 5 years old, then you might get it fixed under warranty for free part.
