I have Sony Bravia KDL bought in Europe where I live. Now I am in New York and want to buy camcorder. I wondering does my Bravia support NTSC as well or do I need to buy only PAL camcorder.
Thanks

I have encountered this before---there are set top boxes that will convert the NTSC to PAL and the only other concern is the line voltage being the same or not.
Where the tv was bought and used,if tv it bought and used in Europe,Austria,Asia or Africa the format for movies are playing in PAL signal format. If the tv bought and used in USA,Mexico or Canada the format for movies are playing in NTSC signal format.
NOT unless it is a DUAL frequency Standard, as Europe is PAL & SECAM, USA is NTSC. Also the HERTZ is different too 50Hz Europe, 60Hz USA, so really NO. IF it would work, it would have an international power supply, meaning it was usable any where in the world. and also it would have a multi tuner. Otherwise it will NOT go.
While a modern PAL TV can display NTSC sources (namely DVD players and PAL VHS players that support pseudo-NTSC), an NTSC TV can not display a PAL source, unless it's an expensive multi-standard TV. Sorry pal, bad choice.
