I am having difficulty setting up a wireless internet connection to my second computer. I am using a belkin wireless G plus MIMO network adapter and a belkin wirelss G plus MIMO router. The internet is working fine on the primary computer. I have entered the proper WEP, but it will not connect to the internet on my second computer. It succeeded in connecting to an unsecured network next door, but it will not connect to mine. Any help with this problem is appreciated.

I have a belkin g plus mimo 3ASF5F router which is unsecured. I want to enable a security password. I have tried by using the WEP connection on properties security and adding a password but it immediately...

you need to set the password in your computer's network connection as well:
control panel --> network connections --> wireless .
find your SID network and delete it.
then re-scan for network connections and when it finds it will ask for the password.
enter the password and you should be good to go

Can a belkin network card f5d7050 work with a belkin g plus mimo router

As MIMO is compatible with all wireless g products there shouldn't be any issues at all....
so some questions:
  • do you have other wireless devices working with the router? if so can you duplicate their settings for this n/w card?
  • have you set security on the router?
  • what are you using to connect to the network the windows interface (assuming it's PC not MAC based) or the Belkin one?
i have a linksys g n/w card attached to my MIMO router & it's fine so I'm sure that this is solvable!

No connectivity with the G Plus MIMO Router

Make sure the router is set up to receive an assigned address, probably DHCP. Unplug the modem for about 30 seconds with the router and computer off. Power on the modem. When it comes ready, power on the router. When it comes ready, the laptop.

Trying to create a bridge with two routers

You do not need a bridge if you are using a wireless adaptor on your pc in the other room. Just set up the Belkin Plus router to the WEP security settings you want and make sure the pc wireless usb adaptor has the same settings as the router. You should be good to go. Good Luck.

Check for the wireless encryption settings associated with this. If you're trying to join a network with "Open" settings to a encrypted network it won't work very well.

Connecting to secure network

when enabling wireless security the router and adapter must be both be configured and configured in a fashion that both support. If you need help provide confirmation of your wireless router's manufacturer and model and the same information for any wireless adapters or computers with built-in wireless adapters to be wirelessly connected.

This will allow us to determine the common security options for all wireless devices you have.
