Hello I got a handycam vision ccd-trv12 and when i record it doesn't show any picture on display..I can hear it but nothing on screen..I think its the little battery for display but not sure..Can u help..Also i can play tapes and the lcd work...???
I cannot record because in the viewfinder and in the display, nothing appears. I can hear the sound when recording.
Also I can play the films. Then it is not a display problem.
Is there any help about this problem?

your protection switch is jammed to the on position its a ver small slide arm insert tapes take them out and give the camera a little knock try to spring it back into off mode
Sony has a recall on some of these ccd imager problems. Contact Sony to see if your model applies, but it sounds like an imager problem on your pal format camcorder. Larry
Well the cheapest way is to go into record mode, cap the lens with the black lens cap and record a 'black' picture on the tape. This will erase all the pictures on the tape and leave you with a 'black' screen on the whole tape.

I also have a SONY 460x Handycam Vision CCD-TRV68 NTSC video Hi8 Steady Shot not able to record a picture but will record audio, playback is the same. Unfortunatly this occured after warranty was out. Seems like this might have been a manufactors defect.
i just read about this c:31:22 problem while looking for a solution to another problem I am having. Someone suggested removing the battery, switching the camera to the "camera" setting, and then turn it off, put the batter back in and it should work. Good luck.
The Image sensing IC called CCD may be defective. We can supply this. The images may be fuzzy with random colors and noises of varying degree and at times Ok.also.
This can be a defective CCD which senses the images. Random moving lines and color patches are the symptoms. We can provide this in 3 to 4 weeks from Sony.
