Laptop pad not responding at all

Make sure that the drivers are installed for the pad. Also check and make sure the pad is turned on in the BIOS. You also need to make sure you have the software installed that allows you to toggle between the two.

The mouse is frozen in my Sony Vaio VGN-NR180E . It won't move .It also looks like the screen is locked. It feels like my mouse is locked. Thanks so much for your help!

Restart the computer-

Plug up a USB mouse to see if that doesn't work

Your touch pad software may not be installed. Goto Sony's device driver support page and download the mouse drivers for your model. Sony has good software support. You'll find the touchpad program easy. Reload and see where that puts you.

I want to disable my touch pad on my vgn nr180e.

Hi,
To disable the touchpad go to:
Start Menu
Control Panel(make sure it is in classic view)
Vaio Control Center
Expand the Mice and Pointing devices option. You should see the option to disable the pointing device as a tick box, just untick it
