These error's occur when units have cracked maps put on them.
When you update your tomtom device it will replace the cracked file with the original tomtom file.
these units on ebay are mainly refurbished units even tho they are in 'sealed' packaging, they opened your box, put cracked maps and sell the device for more then what they have paid for it.
Best to take it back to person you purchased it from.
avoid tomtom products from ebay, most of them have cracked maps.

I purchased TomTom 720 on ebay. I followed instructions for setup and everything seemed ok. I used it once on local area to check it was working and it seemed to function properly. As I do not travel a lot I did not have reason to use the machine on a regular basis but I docked it into my laptop and got regular updates. Recently I was taking a trip 200km up the coast and staying overnight, which was a job for Tomtom. The night before I made sure to update TomTom. The next morning I installed TomTom in the vehicle and tried to set the destination and all TomTom said "Problem with map you cannot use this map on this device:Australia" I have tried everything: "online support" NO ANSWERS! I bought a NEW MAP of AUSTRALIA $150.00 (give or take a few cents: TAKE BEING THE KEY WORD). The download could not complete because of something I myself or my ISP was responsible for. At this time I have Formated the harddrive on the TomTom and will try and start again. If that does not work I will take it to ACA and demolish it with a sledge hammer and hope that they will pay me for the story.
I have a tom tom I got from ebay. The same thing it worked a few times then it came up with this error.

just happened to me with NZ maps.

updated from tom tom home and now maps wont work. i have a go 920 that i bought of ebay from england. worked ok until these updates and now only recognises "Guam" like i need that........
anyone know a fix??
