I have a Maytag Gemini range and the bottom oven is off by 25 degrees. When I set it for 350 it only gets up to 325 actual temp even though the digital display says 350. Is there an adjustment or do I have to change the sensor/control?

OVEN TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT
If you think the oven is operating too cold or hot, you can adjust it. Bake several test items and then adjust the temperature set- ting not more than 10° F at a time.
To Adjust: 1. PresstheBAKEpad(upperorlower
oven) and enter 550° F.
2. PressandholdtheBAKEpad(upperor lower oven) for several seconds until TEMP ADJ is displayed.
3. PresstheAUTOSETpad-eachpress changesthetemperatureby5°F. The control will accept changes from -35° to +35° F.
4. Iftheovenwaspreviouslyadjusted, the change will be displayed. For example, if the oven temperature was reduced by 15° F, the display will show -15° F.
5. When you have made the adjustment, press the CANCEL pad and the time of day will reappear in the display. The oven will now bake at the adjusted temperature.

I have a frigidaire stove that heats to 50 degrees hotter than the know setting. Can it be adjusted to read correctly?

There is a calibration method to adjust the oven thermostat plus/minus 35 degrees if it is a digital display. The method varies depending on the model range. This calibration method is used to adjust the thermostat if it is not keeping proper tempature. For example if you are setting the oven to 350 and the actual temp it is keeping is 325 then you could use the calibration method to adjust it plus 25 degrees to correct the temp. Just so you know electric ovens will keep a pretty even temp but gas ovens will vary by 40 or more degrees to keep an "average" temp. For example the burner will come on when the oven is 330 degrees and turn off at 370. 330+370 then divide by 2=350. So a oven thermometer may not show you the temp you set it at in a gas oven but does not mean the oven temp is off.

Check the sensor for correct ohm reading. If it is good, replace the control. It should read 1143 at 100 degrees

After temp is set bottom oven will not heat up to desired temp

you probably have a burnt out or shorted out lower bake element in you r lower oven. it sometimes will actually break apart or look like it sparked thru the black tubular section. it is common and will cause no heat during the bake cycle.
you could try to do a broil and see if it gets hot and that would let you know the control is ok and just needs the lower bake element.

Inacurate temperatures

Often the temp gauge is the culprit. To check temps, allow to preheat for 15 minutes. Monitor the highest temp reached after burner shuts off and record. Then monitor lowest temp before burner cycles back on again. Average out readings. Example, if high is 355 and low is 345, average temp is 350. Do this for 3 cycles and average out.
