HITACHI TV MODEL 19LD4550U. THE SET COMES ON WITH NORMAL V. GOOD QUALITY PICTURE FOR APPX. 5 MINS., THEN THE PICTURE STARTS TO DIM. IT TAKES ABOUT 2 MINS FOR THE PICTURE TO GO DARKER AND THEN A BLANK SCREEN. THE SOUND REMAINS NORMAL. COULD YOU PLEASE TELL ME IF THE PROBLEM IS CCFL BACK LIGHT/LIGHTS OR THE INVERTER BOARD. Likely the lamp in the set has failed here which does make sense if the picture was dim before---a lot of lamps just before failing all the way dim down.

hi can i just add? I have recently got this tv but for some reason when i set setting to Normal they reset to dynamic?? After about twenty mins? I keep having to change back to normal or if i set it to perfect brightness etc... it just goes back to dynamic again? i.e cell light 100% and contrast up to 100%!

YOU HAVE SET SELF TEST TIME LIMIT TO 5 MINUTES. RE SET IT PROBLEM WILL BE SHORT OUT. OTHERWISE CALL SERVICE ENGINEER.

This is a common problem on this Hitachi model. You can get the parts and repair instructions from www.TvRepairKits.com. In most cases the TV will look real dim or have no video...but audio will work,

It is possible that the TV image backlighting is failing.

try adjusting your color tuners located inside tv behind speakers.

To my understanding the Model 53UDX10B is a rear projection, that uses no fans. I think maybe your LAMP may be getting weak.

if you are hearing a click and electrical statics when you try to turn it ON, the flyback of the tv is busted there are alot of reasons for that problem lighting is one so dont leave the cable screwed in if ever youre going out for a long time. you can have it replaced by a technician ( flyback). but it would cost you. and im not sure if you can find an orginal flyback considering its 10years old. there are replacement flybacks but quality would not be as good as the original one.

yea take the set to a tech reprogram.or take out the plug and plug it in after 30 min.if the problem does not go.do as i say.good luck.
