someone please help.....got the 52" projection screen t v fromfamily menber for free....is it worth getting fix???????
I have a RCA Rear projection TV with convergence problems. Looks like a BOW TIE picture screen. Colors off alignment.
Have not attempted any adjustments. Have accessed the service screen and recorded all factory settings. Trouble codes are 1 thru 3
P1 = V16 P2 = V16 P3 = V10 if I accessed correctly by the instructions given. Have no idea what they actually mean though.

Trying to locate a replacement power supply board P/N 250686R or a reputable rebuilder to repair my board.
TRY LOCATING THE COLOR CONVERGANCE IC CHIP ON THE BOARD , IT WILL BE MOUNTED TO AN ALUMINUM HEATSINK PLATE ON THE BOARD. LOOK FOR IT TO BE ATTACHED WITH A SELF TAPPING SCREW AND SPRING CLIP. THIS CHIP IS RECTANGULAR AND HAS 11 CONTACT LEGS SOLDERED INTO THE BOARD . ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT CHIP IS STK730-130 , AVAILABLE THROUGH SUBURBAN ELECTRONICS WHOLSALE FOR $4.59 +SHIPPIMG AND HANDELING. A TV REPAIR SHOP SHOULD BE ABLE TO SOLDER YOUR NEW CHIP IN FOR YOU,AND IF YOU HAVE SOLDERING EXPERIENCE REPLACE IT YOURSELF THAT IS WHAT I DID AND THE TV WORKS GREAT!
I located the board at PTS Electronics. Mine was the digital convergence board.
A little pricey but did the trick. Recommend that if you do not know how to drain off the capacitors. Let theTV sit unplugged for 3 to 5 days to drain them down below a possible fatal shock level.
Recommend taking good digital photos for your reinstall if you have no schematics or real electronic experience. Priceless advise !!
Do not touch any settings to try and adjust without knowing the original factory settings. It will get expensive to have a tech readjust. Lots of time to adjust and the tech knows you were there. $$$$
