Thank you for this. My CD150 stopped ringing. I phoned Philips for a solution and they gave me a reference number and told me to take the phone back. I have just tried your solution and it worked. How comes Philips, have no idea how to fix their own products, but you do. Thank you very much saved me a trip in to town to change the phone. Thanks,

Thank you so much for your solution. It worked like a charm. I was going to buy some more phones tomorrow. You've saved me some money. Thanks again.

If there is a Dnd butto programmed, it will be located on the top right hand side. By pressing the do not disturb button the ring wil be abbreviated. otherwise it you will have to go into the phone system programming to make that phone not ring.

The phone won't ring. How do I make it ring? I have gone to settings, sounds, ringer and alerts. When I click on that, the phone makes a ringing sound, but when calls come in, it is silent. Please...

Have you checked the switch on the top left of the phone?
That's the mute switch. Flip it in the Up position and that should fix your problem
If the phones ringing when you test the ringer in the settings, the ringer works. It's probably just muted..
I hope that helps...
Thank you

I want to change the nombers of the rings to get start the answering machin

These are the instructions from the manual, which I found here:

http://safemanuals.com/user-guide-instructions-owner-manual/GE/21028GE3-A-_E

RING SELECT (FOR ANSWERING MACHINE)

This feature lets you select the number of times you want to phone to ring
before the answering system answers a call.

1. Make sure your phone is OFF (not in talk mode).
2. Press the MUTE/PROG button to go to the main menu.
3. Press CID/VOL (up or down) button to scroll to HANDSET SETUP.
4. Press MUTE/PROG button to confirm.
5. Press the CID/VOL (up or down) button to scroll to the RING SELECT menu.
6. Press MUTE/PROG button to enter the menu. RING SELECT 3 4 5 6 TS shows in the display.
7. Use the CID/VOL (up or down) button to scroll to the your selection. The default setting is 5.
8. Press the MUTE/PROG button to confirm. You will hear a confirmation tone and the new setting shows in the display.

NOTE: If you select Toll Saver (TS) the unit answers after the 3rd ring if there
are NEW messages, OR the unit answers after the 5th ring if there are NO new
messages. This allows user to access their answerer from another location and
then hang up after 4 rings to save long distance charges.

Have a clanking when at low speeds. sounds like its coming from rear. is this the u joints making noise?

It can vary from u-joints to the ring & pinion. You will need to apply pressure to the DRIVESHAFT to inspect the u joints for looseness. Generally u can move the driveshaft by hand when the trans is set in nuetral to check the ring & pinion for noise
Turn it back & forth quickly to hear any noise

Tv rings

In these sets, I have found that the squealing is caused by the horizontal transformer. It is caused by a part (usually a coil or transformer that is vibrating).
My shop will take a pencil ( with eraser) and just barely touch ( with the eraser side) the component that we think is making the noise. If the pitch changes or goes away completely then that is the part that is making the noise. If not, then we move on to the next suspected part.
When the part is found, unplug the set and apply a solution around the coil or transformer. The solution we use is fingernail polish ( I know, we are professionals, but, it has worked for us over 35 years). Let it dry, about 10 to 15 minutes.
When trying to detect the noise, the set must be running, do not put both hands inside the set at the same time and do not touch any part of the ground with that second hand.
Any questions, respond to this post and I will respond.
