Voicemail I have no new voice mails, but my phone is constantly displaying new voice mail. I check it and the phone tells me there are no new voice mails but it still says new voice mail on the phone.

    I have the same problem. I've tried going to the Telco's voicemail set up options and turn alerts off and back on. I've gone through the whole menu on the phone and have not been able to find a resolution to this annoying problem.

    I have 2 handsets and the main hand set base keeps flashing the play and answer machine lights, itried to switch off or erase any eisiting message stored but it still does not work. the Network signal keeps blinking and neither of the hand set work at all...please advice

    I also have the same problem. I have the answering machine set up to answer after 4 rings which it does, but through out the day I have the message on the display new voice mail. I have never used or plan to use voice mail. I have checked the manual over and over to solve this problem and can't find the answer to this. I did not have this problem with my old phone and do not like having to hold the off button down to erase the message of new voice mail every time I pick the phone up.

    I have the SAME problem of my phone blinking vm waiting and NOT being able to access anything about it. TRIED different batteries, recoordinating to main headset (yes we ARE talking about cordless phones) and NOTHING works. HELP!

Is there an answering machine built into your phone?There is an option in most phones to clear voice mail alerts.Unplugging the phone want help if it has battery backup.Phone company voice mail gives you stutter dial tone when you have voice mail waiting so if you do not have stutter dial tone when you pick up your hand set the problem is most likely your phone.you may have to program your other hand set to communicate with the base.I guess were talking about cordless phones.Check your manual.

Voice mails are set up from the phone company. Your phone has no control over the voice mailing service other than assigning a speed dial to it. You should call your phone company on their customer service number and they will tell your the number to call for setting up your voice mail box.

Given we don't have the light to indicate a voicemail, how do we know we have one without checking it constantly?
The M7310 will display "Message for you" on the LCD screen when you have a message, provided that the Voice Mail system is configured to provide indication to the phone.

The exact steps to do this will depend on what kind of Voice Mail system you are using on your Nortel PBX.

You received a message on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. To hear the message, dial the voicemail number provided by your service provider (in many cases, this will be your own phone number), and follow the voice instructions for listening to your messages. You need to store the voicemail access # by pressing [MENU], [#] [3],[3],[1] on the handset. To access the voicemail, press [TALK], then softkey [VM]. Depending on your service provider, you may need to clear your voice mailbox to remove the notification.

I have a symbol "0_0" that tells me I have voicemail and I don't have a voice mail message

Sounds like your picking up the handset then pressing the voice mail key, thereby transferring the line to voice mail when you hang up. try pressing the voice mail key before you pick up the hand set.

Message Display
Your voice mail is probably set to send notification for the first message only. No matter how many are in there, it will only tell you once. You may be able to change the notification type, depending on your voice mail.

"NEW VOICE MAIL" is stuck on screen
what you do is call your own phone number it will tell you to set up a voicemail account and make a 4 digit pin ....once that is made you can listen to the prompts to listen to your voicemail and erase the messege and the phone will get back to its normal self hope this helps

New Voice Mail
I have FiOs and used some of the info I gathered from this page to get my voice mail working now! To set up my voice mail I called my phone number (from the house phone), then pressed * when the automated system picked up...Your prompted to use a 4 digit pass code, which is the last 4 digits of your phone number (worked for me). From there I listened to the prompts and created a new "4 digit pw" as well as a "name password" by the end of the cycle. It then allowed me to listen to the messages on the phone and delete them! Phone finally says ready on it.
