Mitsubishi WT-46807 Dead

Nothing at all. The power cord works. The little fuse next to the power cord attachment is good also. Any ideas. We had lightning the day it died.

The LED does not light up at all. I already tried pushing those buttons and it doesn't do anything.

    Thanks

I have the same problem. I tried pressing the menu and input buttons both in together to see if the led would blink, but nothing happened.

Good day; TRY THESE SOLUTIONS: 1. CHECK IC7A00 PIN 53 FOR LOW LOGIC (0 VOLTS), IF HIGH (3.3 VDC) CHECK FOR SHORTED D9A31 PART # 264P045050 AND OPEN R9A33 220 OHM 1/4 WATT ON THE POWER PCB. This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the input/device and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source) 1. SELF- DIAGNOSIS INDICATE X-RAY. CHECK FOR A SHORTED IC5A03 PART # 270P704010 AND AN OPEN R5A73 82K ¼ WATT OFF PIN 2 OF IC5A02 ON THE MAIN PCB. 2. SELF DIAGNOSIS ERROR INDICATES SHORT PROTECT. CHECK FOR OPEN FUSES F9A04 AND F9A05 PART # 283P043090 ON THE +24 AND -24 VOLT LINES. IF THE FUSES ARE OPEN THE CONVERGENCE OUTPUT CIRCUIT WOULD BE SUSPECT. 3. SELF-DIAGNOSIS INDICATES SHORT PROTECT. CHECK FOR A SHORTED IC4B01 PART # 270P261020 (VERTICAL OUTPUT) LOADING 24-VOLT SUPPLY LINE. LOCATED ON THE MAIN PCB. I hope this more helpful, big IRISH.

Does the led light up when power is pressed? If so press menu and input buttons both in together to see if the led will blink a two digit error code then let me know the results. Please respond to this same post.

hi,
Error code 2-2 indicates "Short Protect Circuit" problem in tv.
Need to check pico fuses in power supply as one or two got blown due to bad convergence chips.
Below is an exploded view of tv chassis, power supply and convergence area has been marked to give you better idea to look for pico fuses.
Unplug tv from wall socket before to repair/check any thing inside tv.
Hope these info will help you.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

MITSUBISHI WT 46807

You have a power supply decaying; it will likely get worse. There may be board repair of this available so locate the power supply board - look at the assembly that seems closest to the AC cord, check the board number and search on it.
NOTE: There may be more than one number on the board since the bare board may have its own but it will be obviously a part of the board. The assembled board number will look much more temporary and may even be on a label.
If you locate a service company that claims the ability to service it, pick their brains a little since it may not be a main power supply failure but rather another, possibly separate board that produces the high voltage for the CRTs. If you do find a separate board that seems to be servicing the CRTs, note that board number too and ask them about both.

Power trouble

You need a multimeter to diagnos the issue. I have one with the same problem that i had gotten for free. I found that two of the fuses that are soldered to the middle board are bad... i have not tried replacing them yet but i will repost.
