If the gear is stripped it won't turn. Replace it.

SP229/GT912 remote light goes on but doesn't open or close what do you think?

Not much info here. Do you hear the motor running? If so, there are some plastic gears that strip out quite often. The door won't close if your photo sensors across the door are messed up. Look at the overhead motor, get the model #, get the manual from the net. I found manuals for many of them. They have trouble guides usually.

1996 Jaguar xj6 sunroof will not close you can hear motor running, how can you manual close it?

If you remove any gear that is coupling it to the motor you should be able to slide it back to where you want. I would put gear back just to hold it in place and keep it from moving. But you do have to replace that gearbox for future operation.

I have a Craftsman garage door opener, model# 13953674srt1. It will not open or close the door. The motor sounds normal & runs the entire cycle but the chain is not moving. What is the problem?

Remove the cover from the motor unit and you will find the drive gear is stripped. The part number is 41A2817 and is available at any good door service company.

When wall mounted opener is pushed to open you hear a buzzing sound and door wont move almost like it is binding or stuck, but chain looks clear

Remove the cover from the motor unit and check the drive gear. Sounds like it is stripped. It is a white nylon gear just in front of the motor. It is available from any good door opener service company and comes with instructions. Now is a good time to also check the door springs.

Motor wont run on craftsman opener

You need to remove the cover and look at the drive gear. It is probably stripped. I really recommend a technician to repair your door.
