Hi I have a Samsung LCD TV model LN40C530. Yesterday, download the samsung website the latest firmware released for this model (T-MSX5IBRC-1004.4), unzipped it and upload the resulting folder on a flash drive. Run the upgrade option, recognized him and started the update, however to be 70% appeared an error message and stopped the process. Result, the TV works the same as before except for two things. To be on a couple of minutes shut off and the software update option is disabled, so I can not to repeat the upload process correctly. It is possible to repair the problem? Greetings from Chile

you need to go into the service menu and adjjust the option bytes. When you upgraged you changed them. The other solution would be to replace the main pcb

This is more than likely from a capacitor failure in the power supply board. If you want to order the board yourself you can. If you want someone to fix it for you, take it into the shop after you call around for estimates. It is ALOT cheaper to take it in than to endure a trip charge.

SOURCE: I have a Samsung LCD

Hi.

To start, the firmware is not necessarily available. Firmware is available for download only when an update is released, or when there is a known firmware problem.

After that I wanted to say that firmware has nothing to do with faults given by power surges or bad weather electrical problems.

Pink/purple dots and startup problems are usually given by a defective PSU, sometimes by a defective main controller board. In fifteen years I have never seen a similar problem on Samsung LCD TVs being caused by Firmware.

I am sorry to hear that you recently carried a repair, but the bad weather has probably damaged the PSU components, and the part will probably need to be replaced or repaired. If problem is PSU the TV will also take longer than usual to start. The problem usually gets worsening after several days or weeks (takes longer to start).
The PSU is available from £35, the main board from £47. Usually replacing PSU is enough. The repair must be done by a trained person and the parts must be tested before replacement.

Here the parts for this set: le40a457c1dxxu'.

Regards.

Ginko.

I have a 46 inch Samsung flat screen LCD. 3 years old. 500 series. When I turn it on-press the power button-It keeps clicking like it is turning on and off repeatedly by itself. It clicks on and off...

Before researching into a technician repairing the tv, you should see if your firmware is up to date. Typically you can access the menu look for an option that says tv information or about tv. There it should list the firmware version. Check this version against the latest version on Samsung's download website, http://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads/

Here enter your model information and you can download the latest firmware to a USB stick. Samsung should also provide instructions on how to install this firmware. If you have any questions come back : )

Hi, I cannot play some .mkv files on my Samsung LN40C530. What could the problem be? Regards, Charles.

MKV is a video container format which may contain various video or audio codec. If the video or audio codec is not supported by Samsung, it will fail to play mkv files on Samsung.
To play unsupported MKV files, it is better to convert MKV to MP4 H.264 with the help of Avdshare Video Converter.
