It could be your LCD backlight giving you problems. With the computer on and the monitor power LED green shine a flashlight in the lower left hand corner of your screen. Look for the Windows ?Start? button, if your backlight is not working you?ll see a faint ?start? button if you look closely. It could be your LCD backlight giving you problems. Look for the ?Start? button, if your backlight is not working you?ll see a faint ?start? button if you look closely. If you can see the start button then it?s either the backlight tube or the electronics that controls it. This is repairable but I would not recommend the typical user try it unless they have tools and some experience with disassembly and handling of electronic components. It goes without saying that if you are unwilling to risk damaging the monitor you should take it to your local repair shop. You will spend about $50 more in labor but you save yourself guessing which parts are bad (a potential savings) and you will typically get a warranty of sorts. If you don?t see the start button I would next suggest you connect this monitor to another computer to see if the problem goes with the monitor or stays with the computer. Let us know what happens and if you need some more assistance.
SOURCE: Flashing light nothing else
Doesn't sound like a virus. Sounds like a fuse or something else is out. A red light isn't good. If the monitor is ok you get an amber light. I would suggest this monitor is gone. Sorry.
SOURCE: I have a Envision EN-7100e monitor. Downloaded
catamount309, This is only a guess, but unit may have internal "switch-mode-power-supply"/"CCFL inverter" board problem. When screen goes BLACK, is it also BLANK? If you can see WIN-desktop with aid of bright flashlight 1 inch from screen, then SMPS is in partial shutdown mode. If you see nothing, then SMPS is in full shutdown. In either case, Technician will need to repair the SMPS/CCFL inverter board. If KNOWN GOOD monitor works with PC, then you know 7100e is bad. Do you know and understand how the new energy efficient screw-in curlie-Q light bulbs work? If the "electronic ballast circuit" not working, then it can't light-up the CCFL tubes on the reverse side of LCD panel then you see black. Will you fix or trade for new? 12fixlouie

SOURCE: My envision monitor, G175 professional
I have a similar problem with my G175. I have found that by quickly hitting the menu three times and the decrease birghtness several times, the monitor will stay on for an extended time, although very dim. This may get you through for a while, but you ultimatelyt will likely need to replace the monitor, unless you feel equal to the challenge of being your own montior repair technician. I have not yet ried a different power supply between the wall and the monitor but do plan on that at some point. These can be subjet to the same capacitor issues the other poster mentioned. Good luck and let us know how you come out. Thanks!
SOURCE: My laptop LCD screen is
I would go ahead and boot into safe mode where you say it does work and then take a look. See how it detected it...ie look in device manager and see if it picked it up by it's true brand/type etc. Check the settings both of the display and on the envision itself. Check the resolution selection. It's probably picking it up as a lower res. but when it boots into reg windows may be trying to run at full res and perhaps that's what it won't do. Check to see what driver it's using. It may need the specific driver from envision and not the generic driver. It could also be a bad pin on the envision itself.
If you have another computer you can hook it up to, do that to make sure the envision is working. That way you can deduce which is the problem, the monitor or the setup in your laptop.
