This means that your lens is either fractured or burnt out. There is no way to fix it, you either need to send it in, go to a repair shop or buy a new Wii. I'm sorry if this didn't help.

The disc will not eject and the wii says to insert a disc

Try holding down the eject button for at least 10 seconds after turning on the console. If that doesn't work (or you've already tried that). Try the following steps.

1. Unplug Wii from power outlet.
2. Plug in Wii again.
3. Press power button.
4. Press Eject button for at least 10 seconds.
5. If the disc doesn't eject try holding down the power button for 10 seconds and then the eject button again.

If that fails then either return the console to exchange for a new one or contact Nintendo consumer support. Info follows:

Nintendo Consumer Service Contact Information:
Telephone: 1-800-255-3700
Email webform: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/webform...

I wouldn't attempt to manually remove the disc (by trying to disassemble your Wii) as it may void your warranty. It could simply be a faulty console in which case Nintendo should replace it within 2 weeks (according to posts I've read). It seems to be a somewhat common problem.

If holding down the eject button doesn't work, there's really not much else you can do. Sometimes unplugging and replugging does the trick.

I've had problems with discs not ejecting and some combination of the steps I wrote above solved the problem.

It is possible that you inserted the disc incorrectly. That would account for the error message "Unable to read the disc" or "Disc could not be read." But it should've ejected on its own.

Before calling Nintendo Service you can also see if their Support site has any solutions. Try the link provided in the source.

Good luck.

My 2 year old son put a 2nd game in the Wii I did not realize this until I hit eject. The system was only turned on long enough to hit eject. But now it won't play any games just says to refer to manual....

With two discs in the system, it is more than likely that the discs are stuck. This would prevent the discs from spinning and it is possible that the discs are wedged. If you are handy, you could try to take the case off and remove the discs manually, otherwise I would advise taking it to a repiar shop.

Unable to read disc I have 20 something games it wont read any of them

Here are the steps that worked for some:
1. Completely power down the console.
2. Power up the console and get to the Wii Menu.
3. Eject any disc currently in the console.
4. Press the eject button again, without any discs in the drive.
5. Insert the disc that you would like to play.

If this doesn't work then contact Wii customer support.

Unplug the Wii's AC power supply if Step 1 doesn't work. Wait 1 to 2 minutes, and trying to eject the disc again after turning the Wii back on. Hold down the eject button for 5 to 10 seconds. 4Try ejecting the disc with the Wii at different angles. If you hold the Wii upside down, it may help the disc fall out. 5Call Wii.html#" target=_blank itxtdid="7751052">Nintendo and send the Wii back if non of these steps work. In most cases, a disc stuck in the Wii should be covered by warranty. Nintendo says to see if power light was coming on, AC adapter reset. unplug from both ends for 90 seconds.Hold eject button for five or 10 seconds Good Luck

To install wii fit

"Unable to read the disc" / "Disc could not be read" / "Eject the Game Disc" Error Message.
If you are getting one of the above error messages:
  • Ensure that you are properly loading a Game Disc. insertdisccorrect.gif
    • If your console is placed vertically, the disc label will face to the right.
    • If your console is placed horizontally, the disc label will face upwards

  • If you know you are inserting the Game Disc correctly, but are still have the same problem with only one game (or if you only have one game), try cleaning the Game Disc by following the disc cleaning procedures

  • If after reading the above information you are still unable to play a game disc, please call 1-800-255-3700 to discuss available options.

Unable to read disk error

If Wii gives Disc Read Error, first step you need to check is to try another disc or clean the exisitng disc. This will confirm that problem is with either Wii or Disc. If the console itself is giving disc read error then it needs to be repaired. You may check out DIY Wii Fix Guide, that will show step by step information to fix the problem yourself. It also gives information on fixing many Wii Related Problems, so its a kind of Wii Problems Reference Fix Guide
