What you describe is very indicative of timing being off. Its not spark plugs.
Double check your timing and balance belt set up. Its possible to get the timing off enough so the engine starts then the ECU "realizes" that the sensor inputs are very wrong and shuts off the engine.
Is the hydraulic belt tensioner locked down BEFORE you install it? This is required (a large vise or press is required to do this). Once fitted and the tensioner bearing is locked, the lock pin is removed.
first of all the xg300 wasn't produced until 2001 and was changed to the xg350 after this year. So if you really have an xg300, then you are not alone in the traction control system light coming on randomly. It has been happening to my 01 for four years. Just recently it came on along with the brake battery and abs light and it resulted in a rather expensive new alternator trip to the shop. Good luck with that but if there are no driveability issues then drive on my friend. Welcome to Korean auto ownership
