Hi My hotpoint washer dryer 1200 ultima has a door fault , saying close door when in fact the door is shut, i have attempted to replace the door lock, but i cannot get the front drum seal off, there seems to be a plastic cap over it at the top, how do i get this cap off please thanks tommy

Th eswitch that teel it that door is open is out of position or bad.

its a motor problem

Open the door, and look closely at any little plastic latches to see if a small part hasn't busted off.

They usually have plastic prongs that tell a small switch inside the hole it goes into, that the door is shut. It's a toughie.

I'd google around for it. Use the talking marks " ". Like google something like "Ultima 1000" space "door won't close" or 'dryer' 'door won't close'.

That will bring up dozens of other people who've asked questions to OTHER sites.

Tried holding it shut? DOes it work when you stand there? You could tape it with gaffer tape.

Methinks, its a latch problem, something's busted off.

it's a motor problem. could be as simple as the brushes or could be the circuit board at fault.

Error E30 is a motor drive problem. Would check motor brushes as most likely fault.

most like cause is the door interlock is faulty but its one of those jobs that unless you have the right equiptment namely a tester you won't know for sure unless you change it. Could also be the voltage from the control board is't correct so best let someone who knows check it for you.

code e30 means motor fault. this can be just motor brushes, tacho fault or module fault. can't narrow it down more than this - you will have to dive in and check

isolate from mains. undo door gasket and check interlock id ok. interlock is mounted on cabinet on rhs
