HP w17e monitor hooked up to my dell laptop has floating input not supported box, how can i get the two screens to work together
no PC stated, why post lacking what is connect to what.?
Floating, ahh, a floating error box on the desktop, sure.
the typical PC laptop
has hot key, (in the operators guide for sure)
that toggles like this.
1: auto
2: external
3: internal.
4; both.
this is covered in the PCs manual but no PC stated so no help possible. lacking facts like this.
my guess the word floating means, on the screen local
i see a box floating on the screen, actually just a warning message.
that means the UNSTATED OS on your PC does not support that monitor, (its not a crysis)
what OS, XP, W7, W8 or w10, we can not guess OS ever.
you need to say.??????????????????????????????
w17e is now 12 years old (means as old as)
and a new PC with new OS may not support this old a monitor. (eg windows 10 might not)
but we can still make it work.
the trick is set the PCs resolution to external monitor max.
1440 by 900
exceeding this resolution the monitor will be dead
or if lucky, will show, "OUT OF RANGE"
ON the old external monitor.
to get ride the floating error, youd have to tell me
what PC you have,
and what OS you run,
click control panel + system , see what OS is there, easy as pie.
IS this unstated PC connected to the internet.
if yes
see this, MS does support it , if connected
proof
