My dvd rom LG can't read dvd but it's work if i play cd ..

DVD / CD /DVRD or all very cheaply made and it doesn't take much for them not to read. Sometimes they don't like the brand of CD your using or there are fingerprints on it. You can also get a CD cleaner and run it through to see if it needs to be cleaned.

You can get a new one for about 29.00 - 39.00, so there not to bad to replace.

I'm trying to install a PC-DVD Game to my LG CD-ROM CRD-8521B, It plays CD's but wont play DVD's of any sort. Really need help...
The CD rom is limited to CD's. In order to read a DVD, you will need to install a DVD rom. My suggestion is to get an external DVD Burner - i just bought a Samsung slim external DVD burner that reads / writes CD's and DVD's.
You will have no luck ever reading a dvd in a cd rom.

Lg dvd drives plays only vcd not play dvd?
if you have CD RAM and DVD ROM then change it to CD/DVD ram because in case of CD RAM and DVD ROM it may read CD but not DVD but sometimes it can read DVD also but when we copy data to computer it may freeze or give us error so i give you one suggest to buy a new CD/DVD RAM

NEW gcc-h23n will not read anything
If not reading DVD is a pattern (it won;t read ANY DVD, no matter if it's a burned one or an original movie) then the lens is dead. I'm afraid you'll have to go get a new one (new drives are very cheap, usually around 25-30$)

My lg GSA-H55N dvd writer is not playing Cds but plays Dvds fine
your DVD ROM lens has became weak.
and it cannot be repaired.
But if you manage to open the DVD ROM clean the dust in it & it will start working again but be careful remember that no power should be attached to ROM.
or you can buy a lens cleaner from market and try that.

change ur data cable & power cable & try to ditecing
if not show then do one ting go in a device manager >system devices>pci bus>right click on it & uninstall then ur pc is restarts
& insatll ur all divce drivers correctly

Both drives not recognising disks
