Put Fluidmaster 747 in Kohler. Attached the rubber fill tube hose, but no water comes out of it. Was I supposed to rotate the blue cap? It has to have water manually added to flush thoroughly. Help!

I think the answerers so far have missed the question. I have the same issue. I just installed a new Kohler 747 ant it works fine EXCEPT there is no water coming out of the white nipple/black tube, to refill the bowl. Is there some kind of internal setting to allow or not allow bowl fill tube? There is on some a reducing roller pinch valve to tame how much goes to the bowl, but zero does not work for me.

Why is fluidmaster 747 loud when filling the tank?

Water rushing through a small opening creats turbulence and noise. Only way to quiet it down is to restrict(slow down)the water volume by closing the supply valve partially.

Fluidmaster model 747 flush valve is spraying water out the top

Hi tdechill...
Make sure the hose that goes to the top/side of the fluidmaster is in the overflow tube of the water tank, if it is then It should not spray water from the top, it is faulty and needs to be replaced.

I have a fill valve that says Fluidmaster 747. when tank goes to fill it sprays water out at the top

There should be a small flexible tube/hose that came with this and goes over where the water is spraying out, it should look like a little nipple, the hose goes on there and then to the white tube appoximately an inch or so in diameter that goes to the bottom of the tank where the flapper ball is connected. The small flexible tube is supposed to connect to the top of the larger tube via a clip so-as to fill the toilet bowl back with water. If everything is connected like it's supposed to be then you might have a cracked fluidmaster.

My fluidmaster 747 in a Kohler low tank is shooting water and running down the front of the tank with every flush

Twist the Blue top cap counter clockwise. This will remove the top. Inside, you will find a white round rubber piece that has most likely become dirty and stiff. Push the round upper cap up and down with your thumb in the middle of the top rounded part of this piece. Once the piece seems softer and more flexible, if you have already cleaned it, place it back into the top of the fixture with the smaller round end down. Place the cap back on, rotate it clockwise until it clicks in secure. At that point, it should work fine and the water squirting out of the top should be stopped or reduced significantly so that you can continue to use the toilet.

After flush tank refills very slowly

Make sure that any valves that you shut to install the fill valve are fully open after the installation.

If that doesn't work, the following is from another fix your stuff site:
Shut off water supply. Lift the rod arm and remove top cap assembly by turning 1/8 turn counterclockwise. Using a straightened coat hanger, carefully clean out the inlet passage of the Valve.

If these don't help, check the model number of your Fluidmaster and include that the next time you write.

Toilet continues to run because the buoy (the black plastic piece filled with air) gets stuck and does not rise up as tank fills with water. This is an intermittent problem. I tried adjusting the...

The buoy or float cup as it is known by may not be the problem. Try removing the fluidmaster top cap assembly and flush our the valve for debris. If the valve is several years old you may want to replace the top cap seal with model 242.

I installed brand new fluidmaster and it would not shut off even though the flowter are all the way up. why it would not shut down?

If the fill valve will not turn off. There may be debris at seal. The seal in the top of valve may be damaged.

Shut water off and the top will come off.
