Do you mean iPhoto instead of iPhone? You can use a card reader to download to a folder you create on your desktop. From there, you can import to iPhoto.

There's several standard configurations for USB cables, and chances are, you need one of these standards.
Take your camera to a local computer store, or even a Best Buy, and they'll SHOULD be able to find a cable with the appropriate end to fit your camera. Chances are the computer end is a standard full size USB connector.
