We have a Sony KP-51WS510. In order to change the STK-392-560, does this have to be soldered?

Bad STK ICs they are Big Black ICs and will have Part Number on them example STK392-110
Mats Electronics has ICs 1-800-628-1118

this is about a 6 on the skill level of tech you need to be able to solder good and need to have a meter to check various fuses and resistors

dont know if they cross or not but do know that (Mat electronics has the stk 392-560 fo 10.50 apc phone number is 1 800 628 1118. just to let you know. Also there is some small fusses that need to be checked to see if any are open they are right under the heat sink where the ic are at and are usly yellow in color 3.5 amp i think plus the restors need to be checked. They should read 1.2 ohms in value there is serivale under the heat sink also. Hope this helps you out.

These IC's are easy to locate because of their size and they are also attached to a big aluminum heatsink. To replace it you need to have experience in soldering these types of IC's. I attached a picture for your reference.

Yes you will need to unsolder the old flyback and solder in the new however its very basic soldering required. Yes the d board will have to be removed just remove the screws and then press the plastic tabs in that secure the board to the plastic frame. Then the HV lead has to be rotated 90 degress and then removed they come out quite roughly. Its best to grab onto theHV lead with insulsted pliers and then rotate and pull with a twisting motion to get it to release.

There are resistors that need changing and maybe small fuses.
