Nicole, I think I can help. I will post a URL below where you can download a user manual for your scope. It should have all the info you need. Also tonight at about 12:15 central time there is a complete lunar eclipse, visible in the US where I am.If you are in the US canada or mexice it will be visible. You might want to point your scope at that. Good luck with it.
During the evening for stars or any other time of the day... Really though solar eclipses are pretty sweet and some lunar ones happen durring day light hours as well. Planetary stuff is pretty sweet.
