Hi trollingston,

You should be able to unlock the iPod using Itunes. Plug the iPod into the computer that you normally use to update it, open iTunes and then synch the iPod. That should unlock it. When you unplug the iPod from the computer it should operate normally.

Best Regards,
Ken

I have a 8g ipod nano model number a1199 and i got it awhile back and i lost it. recently i found it and forgot the password. is there anyway i could reset the whole ipod... or whatelce could i do?

The latest iPod Nano includes a locking feature, which allow users to set a four-digit combination to keep intruders from using the device. However, if you find that you forget what code you set on your iPod, you will need an alternate way of unlocking your iPod Nano. Once the device has been successfully unlocked, you can continue listening to music on it.

Plug the iPod USB cable into the bottom of the iPod Nano. Plug the other end of the iPod USB cable into a free USB port on a Mac or PC computer. Open the iTunes application by clicking on the Dock icon on a Mac or using the Start menu on a PC. Click on the name of your iPod Nano under the "Devices" list in the iTunes window. Click on the "Sync" button to establish a connection between your iPod and the computer. Click on the eject symbol next to your iPod's name after the syncing process has finished. Unplug your iPod Nano. The device will be unlocked and you will be able to access all normal features again. Hope it helps.
