When the cover is open, there should be a protrusion on the upper left corner (plunger) that will activate the switch in the bottom half of the printer when it is closed. The plunger is probaby bent or partially broken since you have to press hard on the cover to activate the switch. If the plunger appears not to be damaged, then the switch itself maybe the issue. Take a toothpick or straightened gem clip to activate the switch. The light should turn green when you activate the switch. If you want to manually activate the switch, trim a toothpick or gem click to wedge the switch or you can try to repair the plunger by removing the broken remnant and drilling a hole (with a small craft drill) and use a toothpick (preferably plastic) to glue into place (you may have to use two).

My printer error message is close rear cover how to fix it?

Check the rear cover on the back of the machine and make certain it's closed. I've found that sometimes a small piece of paper is stuck back there and causes this problem (I have a Brother printer). In any case, the back cover is not closed properly.

I have a Zebra TLP 2824 and there is a constant amber light, which according to the manual means I have a syntax or command error. Anyone have a solution on how to solve this?

You are right in thinking that the amber light means an erro, but it could be any sort of error in the syntax/printer software, or just a glitch. Also it could mean that the printer top cover is not closed properly, try pressing down firmly on the fronnt of the printer to see if it goes out. It is notunknown for the cover shut sensor to be defective so giving a constant amber light. Further help can be got by contacting www.lancerlabels.co.uk and they will talk you through the problem on the phone - no charge.

I have a Craftsman 1/2 HP Garage Door Opener, Model 139.18076 or thereabouts. One day the door went up and it didn't come back down without me detaching and closing it manually. The motor hums/clicks...

Check to see if the trolley is jammed against the bolt just in front of the motor housing. If it is, loosen the chain enough to take the stress off and then run the opener until the door closes. While the door is closed locate the 'down limit' on the side of the motor unit and turn this control 2 full turns in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the cover. Tighten the chain.

First check the door springs. Most likely you have a broken spring. If not, remove the cover from the motor unit and check the drive gear. It is a white nylon gear just in front of the motor and is likely stripped.

My Zebra 2844 light won't stay green

The amber light means the cover is not closed all the way. Something is preventing the cover from staying latched closed - it's releasing just enough to activate the cover-open sensor. Maybe check if you can see anything broken where the cover latches shut.

Not sure if this will be too helpful...

WD-62525, continous amber lamp light. No picture. Lamp is good.

Hello:

Make sure u replace the lamp cover as the safety switch need to be closed to make the set work. If new lamp did not repair your problem , then it may well be the Ballast Board, Sometimes call the Lamp Driver.

Liftmaster formula 1 garage door opener keeps "bouncing" open

If the door reverses when it hits the floor it is traveling too far. Locate the 'down limit' control on the side of the motor unit and turn this in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the cover. Some tweaking will most likely be necessary. You can always recognize a sensor problem because the main light will flash 10 times. If the main light isn't flashing it isn't a sensor problem.

Warning lights on dashboard

Had a similar problem on older BMW. The ABS/ASC sensor in the wheel hub is apperntly prone to this if something has been changed like brake, shocks etc or got some dirt in it. The amber light could indicate a loose wire connection on the brake system or perhaps a damaged elec cable. can only be reset with diagnostic computer or special tool.

The LCD keeps saying 'Cover Open' but, no matter what I do, I can't rectify the problem. As a result, I can neither print nor copy. Can anyone help, please?

On the right side under the lifted cover is a little square of plastic which when the lid is closed pushes down on a plastic lever this then says the cover is closed. Its possible the lever that the plastic cam pushes against is either broken or faulty, check lever is being pushed down with your finger and it should return when released.
